Big Pharma cashes in on gamblers

Big Pharma cashes in on gamblers
You name it, and Big Pharma has a drug for it. Most recently, they've created drugs for the addiction-turned-diseases of alcoholism and smoking. Now they've got one for "pathological gamblers," too.
What's next? A drug for chronic nail-biters? Or what about a drug for sex addicts? (Who would want to take that?)
A new study of pathological gamblers found that the drug naltrexone - a prescription drug that's usually used to treat alcoholism and drug dependence - actually calmed the urge to gamble and helped to diminish gambling-related behaviors. Almost 40 percent of the pathological gamblers who took naltrexone were able to stop gambling for a whole month, compared to only 10 percent of the patients on the placebo.
I'm fascinated to see that gambling can be treated with a drug, especially since it's an addiction that lacks the physical dependencies inherent in alcohol and drug addictions. But when you think about it, drugs used to treat addictions work out for the benefit of everyone involved.
For the pharmaceutical companies, it offers the opportunity to expand their market beyond treating diseases to the treatment of what most people would consider as a bad habit. And for the people taking the drugs, they get to blame their vice (because that is, after all, what it is) on a medical problem. It's not their fault. After all, there's a drug for it - it must be a disease.
Does no one in this country take responsibility for their actions any more?
It still remains to be seen if this latest use for naltrxone will thin the ranks at Gamblers Anonymous meetings throughout the country. But I'm sure that the folks running the Vegas casinos aren't sweating just yet.

Editors Note: Keep in mind, the FDA which is in bed with Big Pharma gets to decide what is a disease and what isn't. They have also passed laws saying “ONLY PHARMACEUTICAL DRUGS CAN CURE DISEASE.” Well we know that’s a lie. First of all most drugs don’t even cure disease they just mitigate symptoms. So when a new disease comes out.. for instance, gambling addiction, smoking, A.D.D., etc the only way to cure that disease is with a drug (legally speaking) Technically the FTC can shut down any hypnotist, acupuncturist, counselor, or anyone else that claims they can “cure” smoking/gambling  addiction without a drug. They have that legal power.

Think about that next time you take one of your RX drugs. Do you REALLY need that drug to treat your “disease”? Is it REALLY a disease? Maybe its a bad habit, or an addiction? Maybe you can overcome it mentally/spiritually?

Keep in mind that everything that you put into your body that is “unnatural” Meaning that God did not intend you to put it in your body, warps your biochemistry. Some drugs can  even change your DNA.  Your body was designed by God or Nature however you want to look at it, to fight off disease on its own. Your body has the power, IF you are giving it the tools that it needs, namely nutrition. Now I'm not talking about the FDA recommendations. You probably would get better nutritional advice from your corner crack dealer. I'm talking about eating natural, organic, non genetically modified, no hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, preservatives etc. This is how God intended us to eat. All of those additives were put in our foods to increase profitability. (More meat from juiced up cows, longer shelf life for foods loaded with preservatives etc.)

Start to do some research. Figure out what your body REALLY needs in terms of nutrition. Think of how nature intended us to eat. Then make some hard lifestyle choices. Would you could choose to change your whole life if you would NEVER be sick again? What if you could be sick 80% less? Would it be worth it?
